A dry white wine from the Loire Valley, made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes. ‘Pouilly’ refers to the village the wine comes from. ’Fumé’ refers to the local area’s nickname for Sauvignon Blanc (Blanc Fumé) & denotes the smoky, gunflint aroma that characterises the local wines. Pouilly-Fumé is famous for being vivacious, with mineral aromas of wet wool, slate & smoky flint. It’s less grassy than Sauvignon Blanc styles found elsewhere.
A family owned estate producing excellent wine consistently for over two decades, where the land allows them to create profiles that balance sweet and heady herbaceous florals with dry, steely notes - making for a truly elegant wine. Try with scallops, roast pork or even goat’s cheese.
